‘This is a really important project…resources like Mr Shapeshifter can really help to create conditions in which children feel secure enough to tell someone they trust if they are being abused’ Anne Longfield, Children’s Commissioner for England
The Mr Shapeshifter story comes in three different forms – an animation, a children’s book and a live theatre piece – but in all three it’s an exciting, modern fairy tale about the way some adults abuse the trust of children and how children can work together and with trusted adults to protect themselves.
The play, animation and book can be used separately or together and are supported by special learning resources. This launch provides an opportunity to:
- See a live performance of an excerpt from the play
- Watch the animation
- Listen to the author read from the book
- Get information about the special learning packages and meet the GW Theatre Creative Team
- Listen to key speakers working in the field of child protection – including Gail Hopper, Director of Children’s Services in Rochdale, where the project is being rolled out into all primary schools
HOME is in central Manchester. For all transport links including car parking please visit www.homemcr.org.
