From a North Yorkshire perspective we are maintaining all our Child Exploitation and Contextual Safeguarding meetings albeit they are now through conference call. This is working well so far with partners across the county phoning in and being chaired remotely by myself. We had moved to an online drive to store all our minutes and agendas for all our meetings so partners are able to work from home and still view agendas/update work etc.. The vast majority of our partners all have remote working capability so most are home working and using Skype. We are also conducting our ICPCs virtually to facilitate the support to children and families.
Work with families still ongoing – opportunities to try to joined up where possible e.g. worries about a child not being in school and not being seen in MACE meeting last week – arranged for Police and Social Care to go and do a joint visit to ensure welfare….albeit travelling to the address separately and staying a safe distance apart.
Within teams we are using WhatsApp groups to keep in contact with one another and using Skype for all our meetings. We have also set up a virtual tea breaks in our team at 1.30 to maintain links. Across our partnership our Senior Managers have also done a few videos that have been shared on Twitter and other social media sites and have added a bit of light relief J
We have also set up weekly Skype meetings with our parents to keep in touch and ensure regular contact and comms coming down from senior leaders.
We have also added an update to our website for partners regarding the measures being put in place in light of COVID-19 – this can be accessed through this link –https://www.safeguardingchildren.co.uk/coronavirus/
