Service Manager – Specialist

This new and exciting role has responsibility for managing all of our specialist staff who hold complex cases covering a number of disciplines including emotional well-being, gender informed services and family work.

Service Manager – Specialist Services & Referral

As the programme of work matures we are developing more sophisticated mechanism to ensure that referrals come from the widest possible number of sources and that we have services that include a specialist offer to ensure service users case access a holistic support package.

This new and exciting role has 2 important responsibilities. Firstly it will lead on reaching out into a variety of setting to engage with the widest number of stakeholders – for example into local communities – be they communities located around a particular geographical space, faith communities or communities collecting around a particular interest such as sports. There will also been a need to continue to build links with statutory providers such as social care, police and health providers and other key stakeholders such as charities and the relevant commercial companies.

Family Support Worker

The Family Support Worker’s role is to deliver intensive support to the families and young people who are gang involved or gang affected. This will include delivering 1:1 support with young people, parents/carers and whole family support sessions. This work will provide the parents/carers and young people with opportunities to explore and address the risks and impact of gangs on family safety, health and achievement, with ultimate aim to support the young person to move away from gangs.

Support Worker – Youth Violence

The support worker role is to provide transformational and trauma based support to young people aged 16 – 25 involved, affected or exploited by gangs across London. The role will be expected to work well with others and demonstrate clear and effective communication with stakeholders, partners and service users. Experience of working in multi-agency setting and experienced at delivering person – centered and trauma based support is a core component to the skills required for this role.

Referral Assessment Worker

Act as the first point of contact to the service, ensuring effective engagement with referrers and young people to appropriately identify and assess their needs. Undertake assessment and allocation of referrals to the LGE Service and ensure young people accessing the service are referred into the appropriate strands of support. Pro-actively promote the service, deal with enquiries about the service and provide updates on activity, responding in a timely manner to all queries from professionals.

Rescue and Response Worker

The Rescue and Response Worker role will deliver transformational and trauma based support as part of Safer London’s LGE service (formerly London Gang Exit) to young people aged 16 – 25 who are vulnerable and caught up in county lines drug distribution networks across our region. This issue brings together gangs, national policing strategy, CSE, trafficking, exploitation and vulnerability; underpinned by a complex range of social and structural disadvantage.
