Stephen Rose – Chair

Stephen has extensive experience in both external and internal communications having worked for GlaxoSmithKline plc based at the company’s global headquarters in Brentford, Middlesex. For six years Stephen led the Communications function for the Global Manufacturing & Supply business which operated more than 100 factories in 37 countries. Prior to his retirement, Stephen led communications for GSK’s Europe commercial business with a turnover of £7bn.

With his wife, Stephen now runs a smallholding in Derbyshire which is home to sheep, horses, hens, fruit and vegetables as well as two dogs. Stephen also plays Flamenco guitar and practices Soto Zen Buddhism.

Marilyn Haughton

Marilyn has 20 years of experience of managing a project working with adults involved in prostitution and with sexually exploited children and young people. Marilyn recently worked in private practice as a counsellor and as a supervisor. Marilyn is a consultant and trainer in all areas of prostitution and sexual exploitation.

Marilyn has been on our board of trustees since April 2008.


Rebecca Cadman-Jones

Rebecca is the Managing Director of KC Jones conference and events Limited, specialising in the planning and management of conferences, seminars, training events, product launches, media launches, exhibitions and promotional events, organising and directing approximately 80 conferences per annum. Also incorporating KC Jones training and development, offering a flexible range of training opportunities designed to meet individual and organisational needs at our own venue, The Coach House in Derby.

She is a shareholder of The Conference Works Limited, providing set & stage, lighting, sound, projection and AV for conferences and events. She is a past Chair of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO).

Rebecca was appointed as a Trustee in September 2014.



George Nicholson

George’s career has been spent mainly in the technology industry, in several senior executive positions with market leaders such as Nortel, Marconi and Telcordia where he was responsible for multi-million-pound budgets. He has also led small start-ups and market pioneers in mobile, data centres and other leading-edge technologies. His career has allowed him to sample living and working in the US/Canada/Central America/Middle East & Europe. Nowadays he runs his own telecoms company, Juno Telecoms delivering communications solutions to SMB’s in the UK. He is past Chairman of the Derbyshire Enterprise Agency, and is currently Treasurer at Derbyshire Districts Citizens Advice Bureau, and holds a NED position at The Seat Design Company, a leading supplier to the Automotive, Marine & Rail industries.


Dr Colin Harris

Dr Colin Harris is a retired academic having held both research and teaching roles at the Universities of Brighton and Sussex.

Colin played for Chelsea FC in the early 1970s. In November 2016 he disclosed that during his time at Chelsea he was sexually abused by his coach. Since then he has sought to raise the profile of those with lived experience of abuse in sport and well as advocating for a more prominent role for ‘survivors’ in developing policies for a safer sport. 

Colin has been an ambassador for the EU funded VOICE project and is a member of the Football Association Survivor Support and Safeguarding Advisory Panel.  He is currently undertaking a qualitative research study that explores the life histories of male survivors of sexual abuse in football.

   Christina Lewis

Christina has over a decade of experience working in youth voice & stakeholder engagement. Christina’s background is in Higher Education, working closely with students from traditionally disadvantaged backgrounds aiming to improve their education experience, before moving into the start up/ tech industry and she is now part of the senior management team at Deliveroo. Christina sits on the Gender Equality Committee at Deliveroo, and has has been a trustee since April 2019.
