Free CSE eLearning tool

This resource was developed as part of a partnership between Health Education England and Brook, the leading young people’s sexual health and wellbeing charity.
Through clinical services, digital support, counselling, and relationship and sex education, Brook support young people to take charge of their sexual health and wellbeing. We fight for the rights of young people, amplify their voice and campaign to protect specialist services. We change perceptions and develop professional skills and confidence to deliver high-quality services young people need and deserve.
About the Child Sexual Exploitation resource:
The Child Sexual Exploitation online learning resource has been developed to support professionals working with young people in identifying victims of child sexual exploitation and responding to disclosures. The resource will support you to:
  • Describe what CSE is, and know that protection from it extends to everyone under 18 years
  • Recognise vulnerabilities and circumstances which indicate a risk of CSE
  • Recognise the physical, emotional and circumstantial indicators that CSE has taken or is taking place
  • Take confident action if you suspect a child or young person is at risk, has been or is being abused
  • Maintain your focus on the young person, their safety and wellbeing
  • Recognise that the needs of a child must always be paramount
