£3,000 raised for charity by the netball team

33 teams from Police Forces around the UK took part in the annual netball tournament and Nottinghamshire Police’s team raised £3,000 in the process for charity.

The money will be split between three charities – Clic Sargent, Breast Cancer Now and NWG; the National Working Group for tackling child Sexual Exploitation.

The Force hosted the matches at Emmanuel School , West Bridgford and also arranged a Gala Night at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham city centre.

Supt and Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Sirens Helen Chamberlain said: “It was a fantastic weekend and it’s brilliant to have raised so much money for three great charities.

“We are very proud of the teams efforts and also the companies that helped ensured the event was such a success.

“We’d like to thank all the players, friends, family, staff and officers for supporting the event and we look forward to next year’s event.”

Representatives of the charities met members of the netball team and also the CC on Monday morning to pass over the donations.
