BENCHMARKING TOOL SUPPORTING 16 TO 18 YEAR OLDS AND BEYOND

NWG has developed a benchmarking /self-assessment tool to support areas to assess their local response against all the national issues that have been raised regarding the 16 to 18 age group. The tool will include links to helpful resources and at the end of each section there will be contact details of a NWG member of staff who can give support advice and guidance on any identified actions.

ELECTRONIC WORKING GROUP ON TRANSITION

The NWG will facilitate a national electronic working group to share and develop practice around the transition of victims of sexual exploitation from children to adult services. Membership of the group is voluntary and a terms of reference will be circulated this week. At the end of the week a summary of the current information and resources that NWG have identified support transition practice will be sent out to members. There will be a short form to complete to identify what further actions are needed to improve practice in local area. Quarterly updates will be placed on the NWG website.

TRAINING- SUPPORTING AND SAFEGUARDING 16 TO 18 YEAR OLDS AND BEYOND

NWG are also developing a training package to support practitioners working with this age group. The training will focus on use of language, adolescent development and trauma ,consent, legislation to protect this age group, Raising Participation Age Statutory Guidance, and Transition. The training will be accredited by CPD.
